PROPHETS - ISAIAH - DAY TWO

Hello and welcome to our weekly devos following our Prophets series! These devo’s are Monday-Friday and pair with this past week’s message. Be sure to journal your thoughts, vocalize your prayers, and find God in all moments of your life this week.

THEME SCRIPTURE:

“But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and owls, too, for giving them water in the desert. Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed.”

Isaiah 43:18-20 NLT

TODAY’S PASSAGE:

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” — Matthew 6:33–34, NIV

REFLECTION:

Jesus didn’t promise us a trouble free life. In fact it’s the complete opposite. He told us we can expect troubles, but we don’t have to be afraid. He promises us that He will be with us through it all. He never leaves us or forsakes us. As we put Him first and seek first the Kingdom of God, he will bring us peace.

We are reminded not to worry, to just take it one day at a time because God will give us what we need for that day. Let go of fear and put your trust in the Lord. Start your day focusing on Jesus and seeking Him first and He will take care of the rest.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER:

How can you put God first today? What can you do to just focus on today instead of getting too far ahead of yourself?
