PROPHETS - JOEL - DAY THREE

Hello and welcome to our weekly devos following our Prophets series! These devo’s are Monday-Friday and pair with this past week’s message. Be sure to journal your thoughts, vocalize your prayers, and find God in all moments of your life this week.

THEME SCRIPTURE:

Joel 2:28

And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.

TODAY’S PASSAGE:

Proverbs 28:13

Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,

but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

REFLECTION:

Shame has a sneaky way of silencing us. The enemy loves to plant sneaky little lies that convince us God is mad at us, ashamed of us, can’t believe we did what we did. We feel too far gone. We may even be on the other side of things and silently judge people for what they’ve done, thinking we are blameless. Whichever side you tend towards, no one is exempt from confessing our sins to God. We have all fallen short, but the good news is that you can trust the hand of God. He delights in our confession because that is his design to bring freedom to us! He is the perfect one to confess to because his love for you is WHOLE. We find mercy when we confess.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER:

Confession doesn’t produce shame, it produces intimacy. The God who created the universe, who created you, wants you to know how deeply he loves you no matter what you’ve done. Jesus paid the price for you to come boldly and confidently to God! Maybe you’ve been holding onto a confession out of fear and shame and it’s time to open up to God. It’s time to take that leap of faith and trust that he will meet you with love and mercy. Your confession is a blessing to him.
