Talk it Out- Red Letters- Wk 2
These questions and thoughts are designed to help you create connection in your Community Group.
*Start Talking: Find a conversation starter for your group from the following questions…
- What do you look for in a friend?
- Are you a good listener or talker?
Matthew 6:25-34 “Do Not Worry”
Asking for help it not a sign of weakness... it is a sign of strength.
1 Peter 5:5-11 “Humility and Faith”
Guilt says you are not a bad person, but you did a bad thing.
Shame says you are the bad thing.
Mark 4: 35-39 “The Calming of the Storm”
Our level of peace is not found in the absence of the storm. Our peace is found in the proximity of Jesus.
Discuss the different between guilt and shame... encourage one another in identifying the difference.
When have you experience the peace of Jesus. Is there an area of your life right now that you need peace in?
Do you have something that messes with your mental state? How can your church community group help you?
*End in Prayer:
Take some time to pray together as a group- share requests/needs/praises. You can pray in smaller groups of 2 or 3, or all together. Take turns praying for one another and encourage one another to pray throughout the week for all things.
Challenge one another to take the time to pray for peace and resisting unwelcome thoughts for the enemy. Pray for those that deal with a mental illness and how they can be helped and supported. Connect with each other and encourage one another as you go through the week praying.
