Scripture - Joshua 2

Observation - Rahab saw God at work in these Israelite men, foreigners to her. Although she was a prostitute, distant from Gods design for her life, she realized that God had something more for her. She joined God in what he was doing at that moment. Because of her willingness to let God interrupt her normal, she was saved from the destruction that Jericho faced.

Application - Remember God is not far off from you or anyone else. How can you join card in what he’s doing today?

Prayer - Write a prayer of surrender- inciting God to help you join him in what he is doing.

Scripture - Titus 3

Observation - Paul was inviting Titus, and the church to keep their faith central to their lives and relationships. Part of our faith should move us towards genuine community- caring for and healthy interaction with other believers is an essential part of our faith.

Application - What distractions have I allowed to get in the way of living out this Christ following faith? How can I live with faith central to my life and relationships today?

Prayer - God, thank you for being a part of every part of my life. Would you help me to hear your voice and respond to you in every part of my life today? In Jesus’ name, amen.

Scripture - Song of Songs 8

Observation - God longs for us to come away with him, to be completely his. This book ends, with the woman- Christ’s bride responding back to God— come away, my love.

Application - Pause- take time to breath in the presence of God- step away with Him.

Prayer - Thank you God, that I get to step away from the tasks and works of life- to simply be with you. It is in finding myself with you, that later all if the other things I live out, can be lived as an act of love and worship towards you.

Scripture - Song of Songs 6

Observation - Chapter 6 is another beautiful conversation regarding the Bridegroom and Bride-to-Be.

Application - It is interesting that those that surround the Bride, the Brides-to-Be, can see something totally different in the life of the Bride. They can see the gaze in her eyes for her lover. That brings up a great question -Can those around us see the love we have for God in our eyes?

Prayer - God, would you continue to build a deep passion in my life for you? Help me to fall more and more in love with you each and every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture - Song of Songs 4

Observation - This entire chapter is a LOVE LETTER from our Shepherd’s heart to our heart. The Bridegroom King showers these incredible words over the Shulamite’s soul. Our soul.

“Listen, my dearest darling, you are so beautiful—you are beauty itself to me! Your eyes glisten with love, like gentle doves behind your veil. What devotion I see each time I gaze upon you. You are like a sacrifice ready to be offered. When I look at you, I see how you have taken my fruit and tasted my word. Your life has become clean and pure, like a lamb washed and newly shorn. You now show grace and balance with truth on display…”

His word washes our hearts and through the redemption of Jesus we become clean and pure.

“I’ve made up my mind. Until the darkness disappears and the dawn has fully come, in spite of shadows and tears, I will go on the mountaintop with you.” In spite of the struggles this world brings, nothing will hold me back from committing my life to you.

Application - Take the first part of the chapter and read it aloud to yourself. It’s hard to hear these things being read over our lives because we spend so much time thinking about what we are not. So, take some time to ponder on what your heavenly Father thinks of you. And, he knows it all and STILL chooses to see the best in us.

Prayer - God thank you for LOVING ME. You invite me into the greatest love story of all. May I never forget just how much you absolutely love me.

Scripture - Song of Songs 1

Observation - Many people believe that the Song of Songs is a work of art. It is a melody sung from the heart of Jesus Christ for his longing bride - the church, comprised of you and me. We’re inviting you to read this book with us, with that idea of it’s context in mind.

In the midst of feeling unworthy, God calls us lovely... The Passion Translation words verse 5 like this: “Jerusalem maidens, in this twilight darkness I know I am so unworthy—so in need.  Yet you are so lovely!  I feel as dark and dry as the desert tents of the wandering nomads. Yet you are so lovely— like the fine linen tapestry hanging in the Holy Place.”

Application - Where do you need to hear God call you lovely, righteous, whole today? Take a few moments to let God remind you with the words of this chapter that HE DESIRES YOU. Write a prayer to God, thanking him for his LOVE, GRACE and REDEMPTION. Pray that prayer below.

Prayer -

Scripture - Hebrews 12

Observation - “So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:12-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Sometimes this faith is not easy to live out. God even disciplines us when we need it so that we don’t go down a path of destruction.

Application - What does it mean for you to respond to this chapter …to take a new grip on life, to be ready to run the race God has called you to? What changes can take place even today in your life to respond to God?

Prayer - God, I surrender to you. Thank you for moving me towards your desires and will for my life. Help me to be stronger for the race that you’ve marked out ahead of me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
