Advent - Week 4 - PRAISE

“The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.” Luke 2:20 NIV

Thoughts on Today's Verse: December 26th. The day after Christmas.  An easy place to feel down, depressed or discouraged that the hype of Christmas is over. What did the shepherds do after their “Christmas experience”? They returned to their daily routine glorifying and praising God in the midst of it. Although the holiday of Christmas Day is over, the ADVENT of Christmas still lingers on like it did for the shepherds. Life went on for these guys. They had to get back to their sheep who were waiting to be led by them. But can you imagine the conversations they were having based on what they had seen on that Christmas night? May our hearts be the same. Even though the holiday decorations come down, gifts are returned at the story…even the nativity set finds its way into a box until it’s brought out next December…may our hearts be forever changed by the experiences we have with Christ everyday of our lives. May your life glorify and praise this Savior in ways it has never done before. Like it did for those shepherds and for all those who believe.

Prayer: Lord, help me not to forget the power of what your birth represents everyday of my life.
