Greedy Gratitude 30 Day Devotional Series
Day 17 - God's Word
“I will give thank to you Lord with all my heart…” Psalm 118:1 NLT
God’s Word. Our guide. Our compass. Our light. Our hope. Our next step. How would you describe what the word of God means to you? The Word of God is describes itself in many powerful ways within it’s own pages. No matter what word you use to describe it’s value, there is one thing we can’t deny and that is it’s POWER. From the first word in Genesis to the last word in the book of Revelation, God’s Word is the foundation underneath our feet. It’s relevancy has never changed and even though it was written thousands of years ago it’s teaching never fades. One of the greatest ways to to use God’s word for personal growth in your life is reflection. Taking what is written in the pages and applying the truth to your life. Psalm 118 helps us do that. A Thanksgiving Prayer, we are going to read today together to declare our gratitude for all that God has done and is doing. Reading the Word of God and taking time to reflect on the it’s content with gratitude is an awesome way to grasp a sense of THANKSGIVING no matter the circumstances in your life. Read through the Psalm verse by verse and then go back stopping long enough to THANK HIM personally…
“I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength. Every king in all the earth will thank you, LORD, for all of them will hear your words. Yes, they will sing about the LORD’s ways, for the glory of the LORD is very great. Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud. Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”
