Day 8

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

This verse details that God is for YOU! It is also the foundation of which our church thrives on. God wants us to have a future and He wants us to be filled with an abundance of hope! If you feel like you are on the outside looking in, and at times feel lonely or like no one cares, then the best thing to do is to surround yourself with community!

Community is a way to break down into something smaller within the church and have a group of people in your corner. They are the people you can reach out to on your lowest of days and know that they can help find your smile again. They are the ones who you join in arms and link
together with to grow spiritually and build a Jesus-filled family with. It’s amazing what happens to your life when you are around like-minded people.

Check out the church website or Start Here table in the church lobby for
information on a community group that fits you. We have so many you’re sure to find one that fits you!

Heavenly Father,
Community is essential to my growth in my spiritual walk. I pray that you help me find a group that will be my encouragement in the dark moments. I pray for people that will be my battle-cry in prayer when negative thoughts try to take roots. As always Father, I ask that in this journey, you keep healing my mind and heart. When they are strengthen, so is my life. Thank you for this week and everything you have done.

Day 7

Fear is a powerful concoction that holds us back from moving forward. Maybe these words sound familiar:

“I’m not good enough.”
“I’ll never amount to anything.”
“No one likes me.”
“No one will notice if I’m gone.”

Fear allows these thoughts to rattle around in our minds and take root. With words like that being spoken out of your mouth, it’s easy to fall in step and believe the lies.

Today, take hold and capture those thoughts! Don’t let your mind wander aimlessly, but allow your self to take hold and train your mind to think positive. For every negative word you speak, replace it with a positive one. Also, tell fear that today is its eviction notice. You will no longer be the pawn in its twisted game that leads to destruction and hopelessness. Today, you are going on a path towards joy.

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Jesus has already overcome worry and fear. It can no longer reside inside of you! Have peace in knowing that Jesus bared it all, so that we could live with total freedom.

Heavenly Father,

Help me to find perfect peace in you. Instead of listening to the voices around me help me to hear your voice the loudest. Help me find positive influences in my life that push me forward towards you rather than pull me backward away from you. I love you.

In Jesus name,

Day 6

One word, but so hard to do. Maybe in the past someone close to you broke your trust. Maybe, you were once involved with a church and that trust was broken. Now, you find there’s a wall built around the part of your heart that so willingly trusted in the words people said.

John 14:1 says, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me also.”

Did you get that part that says trust in God? You know the cool thing about God is that He never, ever disappoints us. He never gives up on us. And, most importantly, you can put your whole trust in his hands and he won’t ever break it. How cool is that? So, see, because humans were automatically born into sin, it’s hard for us to not break trust with someone else. Think of a part of the lyrics from a song this weekend that was sang in church and imprint it on
your heart...

In God we trust. He will never let us go. Never let us go.

Heavenly Father,

I can trust you. I can trust you! Help me to declare that in my life by not focusing on the circumstances but trusting fully in you. Thank you for being so trustworthy.

In Jesus name,

Day 4

You know that little voice in your head?

You know the one. It constantly whispers that you’re not good enough. You’ll never amount to anything. What you’ve done is unforgivable.

Can I tell you a little secret?

It’s not true. It’s lies that enemy tells you to keep you bound in your chains. He wants to see you miserable to the point that he knows you will self-harm yourself.

Can I tell you another secret?

God loves you. Yes, you! It’s so amazing that the creator of the universe loves everything about you! Don’t let the enemies lies keep you from experiencing full freedom and joy that comes with serving God!

Psalms 27:7 says, “You are my strength and shield from every danger. When I fully trust in you, help is on the way. I jump for joy and burst forth with ecstatic, passionate praise! I will sing songs of what you mean to me.” TPT

Heavenly Father,

I want the lies to be broken over my life. Take my sins and wash them clean. Father I declareyour truth over my life and demolish the lies that have been said over me. I trust in you and your word.

In your name,

Day 3

Often there are times that we don’t want to share what’s going on in our lives. We’d rather bottle up those feelings and thoughts then share them with anyone. Maybe shame holds us back or we think that no one will understand what you are going through.

One of the key things in getting through our struggles is to surround ourselves with friends. Not just any friends, but friends who will lift you up in prayer and encourage you. The positives one who will stand by your side and fight the battle in the trenches with you.

Proverbs 27:9 says, “Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence.”

It’s so true! Good friends are just soothing to the soul. They are a true reflection of how your relationship with Jesus is. If you find yourself amongst people who tear you down and are toxic, it’s time to surround yourself with a different crowd.

Heavenly Father:

Today I want to make the choice to let people in my life who truly reflect the love of God. Friends who will be by my side and lift me up on each side when I am weak. I want people who will speak life into me. Jesus if there’s something in my life that holds me back from having a
true friendship to you, reveal that to me. I offer my repentance to you.

Day 2

Some day’s life seems so overwhelming. We look up, we look down, and all around us. Yet, there doesn’t seem to be any answers to the questions that plague our minds. Voices scream out at us, trying to offer the best advice possible, yet feeling lost numbs you all over and becomes the mundane routine as you slush through one day to the next.

Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “God is always there to guide you.”

So, even when that overwhelming feeling hits, you can breathe a bit easier knowing God is right there beside you. Through your tears, through your screams, through your frustrations, God’s there.

Heavenly Father,

With all the voices that are constantly battling in my mind, help me to focus on your voice only. I ask you to bring clarity to the chaos in my life. Help me to see clearly the path you have laid before me. On days I feel overwhelmed, bring peace into my life. I only want you as the captain of my ship.

In your name I pray,

Day 1

Brokenness comes from one moment of pain that leads to the feeling of hopelessness. When you feel like you’ve had enough and all you can do is sink to the ground and cry.

Psalms 34:18 reads:

“The Lord is close to all whose hearts are crushed by pain, and he is always ready to restore the repentant one.”

So many times our hearts get crushed. There are multiple situations that can affect our soul, mind, and body. But the awesome thing is that God is there! In those moments, God wants our hearts and minds surrendered to him so he can fully restore us back to how we are meant to live life!

Take today and the broken bits of your heart and mind and ask God for restoration. It’s a great opportunity for our Savior to pour his love over you.

Heavenly Father,

Take the broken pieces of my heart and put them back together. I lean on who you are and remember that you are close to those who are crushed. Remind me today that you are not far from me.
