“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”
This week i was a bit discouraged. I’ve invested a lot of time and energy into a particular situation that seemed to be going nowhere. I lost sight of my gratefulness to even be in that situation at all. While i was complaining to a friend they pointed out how my time and energy aren’t merely MY time and energy, but fruitfulness. I had been obedient to what the Lord had asked of me and even though i couldn’t see it for myself - patience, kindness, and peace were laced throughout the situation.
We often see the fruits in others before we see it in ourselves...which is just one more reason why investing in community is so important.
For today’s gratitude challenge, praise God for your community, reflect who has shown fruitfulness to you, to others, in situations...and let them know! Encourage each other and praise God for his faithfulness.
