Overcoming Our Enemy...

“Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:9-10 NLT

Danny and Priscilla, our Engage School of Ministry Directors, returned from Las Vegas last night with our Engage students after a long week of hard work for tuition and the Engage budget. Upon entering the guys apartment, they noticed a possible break in attempt at the door and then a window actually was shattered leaving them unsure of what had happened or who had entered. It reminded me of this verse and the perspective that we have an enemy that is always trying to steal from us and destroy us. His ultimate goal? To kill our relationship with God or wound us great enough that we are ineffective spiritually.

I feel as if we are in a season where we need to be more aware of this than ever. We don’t need to be afraid or feel like there is a devil behind every tree because Jesus has given us a rich and awesome abundant life through trusting in Him. But, that doesn’t mean this nasty little enemy isn’t out to destroy it. Because of your personal growth in God and our growth as a church community, we need to be more aware of it. The enemy will stop at nothing to curb that growth.

No doubt the enemy is taunting you and me on the battlefield of life thru circumstances and discouragement. Just like Goliath did with David. But our Heavenly Father is more powerful than this little devil could ever be and is raising up true warriors of light in each of you. Let's run to the front lines and fight for what matters fearlessly. How do we live so unafraid? We have to train. Not physical so to say, but the spiritual. I’m calling us over the next week as a church community to get on our knees more, to fast and pray more, to fight to be in God’s Word more…to pray with one another more. Pray in the spirit. Pray without ceasing. Let’s storm on the battlefield lifting our leaders, one another and our community up. Will you take some active effort with me in this next week? God is doing something beyond what we can see. Let’s be a part of His eternal plan by learning how to fight for what matters.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 NLT

So, over the next week…

-Pray for yourself and those closest to you. Ask God to strengthen us through our circumstances and weaknesses rather than run from them.

-Ask God to protect your relationship with Him through brokenness and humility. Ask God to protect our 29:11 leaders, families and church community.

-Ask God to tear down the walls the enemy has been attempting to build through in our lives and those around us through disunity, sin and believing the enemy’s lies.

-Ask God to break the chains that are holding our greater community back by seeing breakthrough those who are afflicted and suffering with addictions.

-Ask God to shower his amazing Holy Spirit to lead, guide and speak to this 29:11 community.

-Pray for God’s love to flow from His heart into ours and then out to all those we influence and come in contact with.

God has GREAT things in STORE! Let’s raise up an army of strong warriors. Don’t disqualify yourself…your are one of them!  Love you guys...there is good work happening in you.

Be Encouraged.

Love, PMark
